Visually check aircraft for general condition during walk-around inspection.  In cold

weather, remove  even  small  accumulations of frost, ice or snow from wing, tail, and

control surfaces. Also make sure that control surfaces contain no internal accumulations

of ice or debris.  If night flight is planned, check operation of all lights and make sure

 a flashlight is available.

 

Cockpit

                a.             Remove control wheel lock

                b.             Battery switch   "ON"

                c.             Flaps  "DOWN"

                d.             Check FUEL gauges

                e.             Battery  "OFF"

                f.              Get fuel strainer

                g.             Fuel selector to  "BOTH"

Left side

                a.             Left wing fuel sump - CHECK

b.             Brake and tire

c.             Cargo Door - CHECK

                d.             Fuselage (wrinkles-rivets)

                e.             Leading edges

Tail

                a.             Vertical  Stabilizer

                b.             Horizontal  Stabilizer

                c.             Rudder - Elevator

                d.             Control  Cables - both sides

                e.             Hinges - nuts - bolts

                f.              Trim  Tab

                g.             Leading  Edges 

RIGHT  SIDE:

                a.             Fuselage (wrinkles - rivets)

                b.             Top both wings (overlook)

                c.             Right wing fuel sump - CHECK

                d.             Brake and tire

                e.             Flap rollers (4) connecting rod

                f.              Right aileron 4+4+4 bolts - nuts

                g.             Right aileron connecting rod

                h.             Starboard light (green)

                i.              Leading edge

                j.              Vent holes - clear

                k.            Visually check fuel

                l.              Windshields

                m.            Oil compartment 5 - 6 quarts

                n.             Pull fuel strainer - first flight

                o.             Inspect engine - close door

FRONT

                a.             Strut

                b.             Air filter

                c.             Mufflers - gently

                d.             Inspect prop

                e.             Inspect engine compartment

Left front

                a.             Windshields

                b.             Static vent (don't touch)

                c.             Visually check fuel

                d.             Air vents

                e.             Pitot

                f.              Stall warner

                g.             Fuel tank vent

                h.             Leading edge

                i.              Port light (red)

                j.              Aileron 4+4+4  bolt - nuts
